Who needs a career coach?
Many people think that something has to be wrong in order to seek career coaching, but this is simply not true. Career coaching is for people who want to feel empowered to pursue a better future. It is also for those who are excellent at what they do, but who are not professional job seekers. From our experience, many highly talented people have not yet discovered how valuable their talents are or think that they do not have talents at all are good candidates for career coaching.
It is human nature to want to continually evolve to ever-increasing levels of success. If you are not pursuing a career that you love, then you have a passive relationship to success. An important part of job searching is to be proactive. By not leaving it up to luck, you can take credit for pursuing your own professional interests and you will never feel stuck again. You will know that with a strong, active network of people who know your talents and share your interests, YOU can create your own JOB SECURITY.
Abraham Lincoln said that if he had twelve hours to cut down a tree, he would spend eight hours sharpening his ax. Allow us to ensure that your time and money is invested wisely in marketing materials strategically prepared to reach your target audience. Optimized and appropriately branded materials elicit quicker and greater responses from employers, enabling you to transition sooner and more successfully. A successful career transition, in our view, is one in which you land a position that makes available to you the life that you want, both professionally and personally.
Charésumé: Your Career Campaign Partner
At Charésumé, we are not trying to fit square pegs into round holes. We assess your fit and strategize your progression with a prospective employer or area of employment to give you the best possible results for your talents and abilities. We also do not teach you "tricks," but rather offer helpful advice for you to succeed in a competitive job market. In order for you to convince an employer that you are the right fit for a career, it is important for you to be comfortable asking for help as well as offering more help than is necessary. We use strategic preparation, systematic tracking, and extensive evaluations to find the best possible fit for your value, abilities, and talents. Establishing strong, meaningful friendships in order to set up successful networks is an important part of active job searching, and we will encourage you to do this. Charésumé does not want you to "spin your wheels" and waste time just to make money. Your success is important to us!
Challenges pop up often during job searches, and some common ones today include uncovering the hidden job market. There are so many opportunities out there that are left unexplored because people either choose not to search for them, believing that they should spend their time on the "low-hanging fruit" where everyone else is looking, or they do not know how to uncover unadvertised opportunities.
Getting your résumé read by the right person is another challenge. A résumé should only be sent out to places of employment that you are very serious about, and who are very serious about hiring someone with your particular set of skills. Keeping the perceived risk low and increasing the perceived value are other obstacles in todays market, and at Charésumé we help you determine which jobs have the highest value for you personally. Another common challenge is attachment to few opportunities. Give yourself time to search for a wide range of opportunities available to you.
Finally, losing motivation to search is a big challenge because this will only waste your time. At Charésumé, we make sure you are motivated and excited to find your perfect career.
Time spent out of the job market for whatever reason is one of the biggest obstacles that must be overcome. This can be seen as a problem, but being truthful usually pays off. This sets up an honest relationship between you and a prospective employer from the start.
Changing roles or industries is another obstacle because your skills may not be honed to that specific industry. You must convince your employer that you will be an asset to their company. If you were fired you may think that you will not be able to find a good career, but this is simply not true. Especially now that the industry is being hit hard by the economy, it is important to be extra diligent in finding the career that's right for you.
